How It Works

All solid metal gutter covers work on the same principle: rain flows over the curved edge of the cover and into the gutter through a gap small enough to keep out debris, using a principle of physics known as the Coanda Effect. The phenomenon of a fluid flowing in contact with a solid surface and tending to follow it even when it curves away, was discovered by Henri Coanda in 1910. The solid metal cover differs from mesh gutter covers in that it allows the debris to slide off, rather than become trapped and blocking the mesh. Gutter Integration

Some gutter cover products require the existing gutters to be replaced with an all-new integrated gutter system with cover. Most people don’t need gutters replaced, just covered to keep debris out. Even if the customer has new gutters and then LeavesOut gutter guards are installed, the total cost is less than installing the integrated system.

Lifetime Warranty

LeavesOut gutter guards carry a transferable limited lifetime warranty. The Alcoa 2-coat lo-mar finish is applied to both sides of the product to reduce the possibility of corrosion and extend the life of the product. Most competitors’ products are painted only on one side.

Gutter Profile

Gutter Attachment

Most gutter covers are attached to the gutter using either aluminum or plastic fasteners. LeavesOut gutter guards use stainless steel which, of course, is stronger and more durable, and therefore can be spaced further apart. This means there is less opportunity for debris to catch on the fasteners resulting in virtually no maintenance.

Roofing Damage

LeavesOut gutter covers are secured to the gutter lip with the material slipped between the 2 bottom layers of shingle. They are not glued, nailed, or screwed to the roofing, as are some other products on the market. When it comes time to re-shingle the roof, LeavesOut gutter covers can be easily removed and reinstalled where other similar products are very difficult to remove and nearly impossible to reinstall and still function properly. (Ask any roofer.)

Ladder Line

The position of LeavesOut gutter covers allow a ladder to be leaned against the gutter and not touch the product. Several other products on the market get dented or pushed out of position by ladders being leaned against them.

Cost
